What is a forklift truck hydraulic accumulator?

A hydraulic accumulator is a shock absorbing device that links into your forklift truck's lifting mechanism. It is perfect for use by companies who are suffering from either:

  • load damage due to shock transfer through to the load carried
  • forklift truck reliability problems due to shock transfer through to the truck

Shock transfer can occur due to either uneven working surfaces, or sharp/jerky truck operation; or both.

A hydraulic accumulator allows some flexibility within the lifting mechanism via a diaphragm linked inert gas chamber. When pressure is placed on the diaphragm due to sharp downward or upward pressure, the diaphragm flexes slighly to cushion against any shock to both the load and the truck.
